First Things First

First Things First
Sometimes I just really get in the mood to post.
This usually happens AT work.
I'm just going to say that I like to post, not that I just don't want to work.
So what do I do to fix this?
I find an awesome link-up and voila! You guys get a post.
Today I am linking up for First Things First
These topics were just too good NOT to post about.

First thing I do when I wake up in the morning

I would like to say that I get up, eat a healthy breakfast and head to the gym at O Dark Thirty, but you all know that is a damn lie. I try and squeeze in as much sleep as possible. Now I've never been a snoozer. I can't stand the sound of an alarm clock once in the morning, much less 5 more times in 9 minute intervals. So once my dreaded alarm goes off, I pick up my phone, and with one eye open and one closed, I check my email, check Twitter, Facebook, Instagram... you know all the important stuff. Now if I wake up before my alarm clock goes off {which I have pretty much trained my body to do on the reg.} I can squeeze in reading a few blog posts from Bloglovin before I roll myself out of bed and get ready.

First heart break

I always thought it was my first long term boyfriend back in 2009, but it wasn't. It was last February. I was with a guy who I thought I would marry, or so I told myself that. Long story short: he came home one day, told me he didn't wanna get married or have kids and by the end of the week I moved out. Two months later he had a new girlfriend and you guessed it, she has two kids. My heart is mostly healed from this, but there are still days that I think about it and can't believe I made it through. Trust me on this though, if you are experiencing or just experienced a break up, it will get better. It may not seem that way, but it will. If you have to take it minute to minute, do that. Two days after we broke up, I wasn't sure how I would make it a whole hour and now, I've made it almost a whole year.

First high school dance or prom

My junior prom. Unfortunately I couldn't find pictures from that. I went with my best guy friend in high school. It was nice to have someone take me to dinner, get me a corsage, and take pictures with, but the real fun was my senior prom. I went with three of my girlfriends and had a blast! Circa 2006

  1. Ugh, I hate that story about your first heart break! (Mostly all of them so far have just felt so depressing!) But it's been almost a year now, and you're rockin' along strong - good for you girl! So glad you linked up with us Allie!

  2. Ooh girl you just made me feel so old. My junior prom was in 2000. 2 freaking 1000 lol!

Sounds like your ex was a jerk and you're way better off without him :)

  3. I also do the whole one eyed read everything on my phone when the alarm goes off. It is set for 6am, so I spend about 15 minutes scanning facebook, reading emails and if my guy friend is online (he's deployed right now), i chat with him for a couple of minutes.

First heartbreak - I'm so sorry. Men suck!

And OMG I'm old, my junior prom was in 1997!

  5. I hate your breakup story but am SO happy that you came out a stronger person from it, You will always remember how much of a jerk he was, and you will never allow anyone else to treat you that way, so breakups suck, but in the long run they always make us better people:):)
    xo

  7. I need to learn to not use the snooze button. I love to lay in bed and check social media on my phone (one eye-d thing and all!) but it's after using the snooze button numerous times which leads to me getting ready later than I would like.

First heart breaks are tough! But you are right, it does get better!
