So take that fun thing up there, add a cooler with some beer and give us a 4 mile long portion of river to float and you have one happy family. See, look how happy we were:
Just kidding. That wasn't us. But it was pretty much what we looked like. I was just too chicken to take my phone out on a river. So I had to borrow a picture from the company's website. Can we talk about this for a minute? I see one adult male, two adult women and three kids. Is this like a Sister Wives thing? (just kidding again)
I did have my phone out for some parts of the trip.
one. selfie for the start of the five hour road trip.
two. we went right past the Charlotte Airport and one of it's runways is right by the Interstate. It's a pretty busy airport so planes were coming in one right after the other. This was taken through the sun roof and was low enough I could read the airline's name on the plane.
three. as we got into the mountains I thought it was just foggy. I was wrong. My momma quickly informed me that we were so high up that these were clouds.
four. we went shopping Saturday afternoon and found a tall mirror, so obviously we took mirror pics. Duh.
five. this was the weekend in between mom and dad's birthdays so we celebrated with an ice cream cake from Dairy Queen.
six. after a long day tubing and drinking and a big dinner at Texas Roadhouse, we headed to downtown Asheville to walk around for a bit. This was right before a mini monsoon that came out of nowhere, but right after we watched a man playing the banjo and a woman playing using spoons as her instrument.
seven. ice cream. What can I say? We like our ice cream.
eight. Kilwin's has pretty much every flavor of ice cream you can think of, along with a bunch of other yummy treats. I got chocolate. Easy to please people.
nine. Downtown had horse and carriage rides going, pre-monsoon.
ten. We had brunch at Cracker Barrel and I got a large glass of milk (and pancakes and bacon, but those didn't last long enough for a picture)
eleven. Our last view of the mountains on the way home yesterday.
twelve. There isn't much else to do on a five hour road trip.
Is it the weekend yet?
